What was the hook? Character notes: how many characters and what made them feel real, what are their motives? What point of view and why? How did the author create setting? What is the tension and when does it appear? Structure, scene shifts, time, etc.  dialogue notes:what purpose each line holds, what is left unsaid?  What makes the narrator's voice unique? How does it affect the tone of the story? Symbols and their deeper meaning: theme truth of the story.  Prose, craft notes. The ending? impact?

 I set out to become a better short story writer and provide literary analysis for others by creating a blog where I respond to questions for each short story I read. I hope to create a space where people can learn about short stories and the writing tecniques used. it is my personal goal to to a minimum of one story a week.  obviously I will not be posting full short stories here. if you wish to read along you will have to find the story. I can provide resources as to where to find the story I'm reading.  be warned there WILL BE SPOILERS!!!!
